An Analysis of Business Communication in English courtesy of Rhetoric

Abstract: The politeness principle is the business communication process must follow the specific application there are several areas which need attention: (1) flexible use of pronouns, such as the first-person plural of; (2) verb nominalization; (3) soul to state verbs, language can tactfully; (4) Add 'I'm afraid'; (5) the use of a restrictive terms; (6) all references to the request or proposal, should try to use the past tense; (7) the use of body is stressed the temporary nature; (8) The use of the passive voice, can maintain decent; (9) The use of conditionals; (10) using a complete sentence.
Pragmatic Politeness Principle is considered an important element of learning. British scholar B rown, and Levinson in 1978 for the first time courtesy, face a systematic discussion, since the theory has attracted wide attention and extensive research, the British linguist Geoffrey Leech1981 this year based on the principle of politeness. The 20th century, 80,90 years, Chinese scholars to conduct extensive research on the politeness principle, however, these studies confined to the language of everyday interactions. I tried to use these theoretical results to elaborate the business activities in interpersonal relationships, thereby enhancing business contacts, but will also help business English teaching and application-oriented talents.
